Me and coworkers are spliting it for the one that is leaving. It isnt company paid for (sadly) but it is our way of saying thanks for being part of the team.

Just wondering. I know some places actually pay for it. It's good that the team is splitting it. Personally, I would feel weird or guilty if I got something more expensive that everyone else. But I'd also feel cheated(but only a little) if i got something that cost way less. Haha.

That's really cool and nice of yer. How long have you been working with this coworker? I've had a few whom I've worked with for 5+ years but they were fired. Not sure how well a farewell dinner would sit for those fired. Those who leave on their own were with the company for maybe no more than a year or two. The ones who actually retired though, the company did host a farewell luncheon for them.

Haha. I get the same feeling when I'm being treated. I just try and order about the same as my friends/family.

Just over two years now, they have been a good person to work with. And yeah, if it was a firing it would be different

Yeah. They always say, is that all you want. But I would feel weird to keep ordering. Haha.

Also, that was really nice of you guys. It's always sad losing a member of the team. But the luncheons or dinners are always a good way to say bye. Maybe reminisce a little...
