That's really cool and nice of yer. How long have you been working with this coworker? I've had a few whom I've worked with for 5+ years but they were fired. Not sure how well a farewell dinner would sit for those fired. Those who leave on their own were with the company for maybe no more than a year or two. The ones who actually retired though, the company did host a farewell luncheon for them.

Personally, I would feel weird or guilty if I got something more expensive that everyone else. But I'd also feel cheated(but only a little) if i got something that cost way less. Haha.

Haha. I get the same feeling when I'm being treated. I just try and order about the same as my friends/family.
