Congratulations!
You scored a 68 on the Mensa Home Test.

Scores between 63 and 70 from the online test are above the 86th percentile and indicate an approximate IQ range between 116 and 125. This high score indicates a strong possibility that you may qualify for membership in Mensa!

Damn it, I really wanted to be a genius. Fuck.

I paid $18 for that, I feel like that makes me dumb already. On the bright side, that's a high "above the 86th percentile".

I would never join Mensa btw. I don't even see the point. Just taking the practice test for fun. All the other online IQ tests are bogus.

Basically, an organization where smart people get together... I think it's just a sticker that says "I'm smart", I don't think you get anything.

I don't think Mensa is bogus.

Yeah, but it does correlate with success regardless of upraising or education.

68, 122 IQ, 92nd percentile.

It's still a damn good score, 92nd percentile is pretty good. Just not "genius", which was obviously what I wanted.

Worth noting I guessed on nearly every single one of the vocabulary questions for words I've never heard before. Also note that I'd probably make it into Mensa, since I only have to score 99th percentile in any category.

I'm actually very unhappy about this score.

I was 98th percentile on the SATs and I didn't even study. I'm going to work on my vocabulary and take a real Mensa test. These guys are getting more of my money.

Eh, I've met two geniuses. The kind the write news articles about and such. Actually went on a date with one of them, but thankfully it didn't work out because I met my wife afterwards.

One graduated college at 12 or something and couldn't find their place in life and was writing a novel just to have something to do, and the other was going to grad school at MIT when she was 19 and didn't even have the urge to go because it bored her.

Being a genius doesn't sound like much fun.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Instead of wasting time and money trying to join a club that correlates with success why not try just succeeding instead.

so you've heard the mcat is much harder than the SAT? the lsat? etc......Do you think those standardized tests like the SAT do test how smart you are? On a side note mensa in the past, i don't know about now, did accept a very high SAT or ACT score as admissable to join their "awesome" club

I took the MCAT and the SAT. Kind of part of going to college and getting into med school. The MCAT tests a wider breath of knowledge and even the reading section is harder because youre pressed for time a lot more than on the SAT. I didn't have to worry about my pacing on the SAT but i did for the MCAT. The math on the SAT is...just trig and algebra. The most basic of math. The mathy portions of the MCAT are applied math in the form of physics(or the physics of physiology in the newer exam).

The score will be sligjter higher than the official test will likely be.
