It goes in waves. Every once in a while the stupidity valve backs up a bit and the frothing-at-the-mouth manchildren feel the need to make dozens of political topics, then they tire themselves out and it gets quiet for a bit before they eventually recover and start the whole thing over again.
Election time is the absolute worst, though, because then it becomes a never-ending tsunami of boldly-proclaimed ignorance and ill-formed opinions forcefully presented as fact. It's almost as if they think ranting about these things on a video game message board filled with cynical curmudgeons who don't give a single fuck will somehow magically change the world, rather than just waste everyone's time. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
