Armed security at schools (along with more secure entry/exit points) is a good short-term measure that can be applied immediately.

This is not the be-all-end-all and shouldn't be and anyone on the right stopping at that as a means of fixing this issue is misguided. But it is necessary to have countermeasures and armed deterrents in place that can be done NOW while the longer term solutions get discussed and worked on.

Even with the strictest gun control passed this minute, it won't stop a shooter from walking into a school tomorrow, so something has o be there in the meantime.

Have you heard about the mail bombs in Texas lately? If people wanna kill they will kill. I'm agreeing with you btw.

Funny, if I was outside I probably could have actually heard the mail bombs. I live not too far from where they happened.

Yes, if people want to kill they will. But If I am in a room with someone and they wanted to kill me with either a fork or a gun, I would rather them have the fork.

Yeah but at the same time if i can defend myself with either a gun or a girl I'll choose the gun.

Don't know what that is supposed to mean.

It means everyone else left their forks at home, except for that one guy who's actively stabbing everyone with one.

I'm still wondering where all these kids are getting regularly shot and why people are putting any stock into the opinions of small children who think prom is the most important day of the year, can't work, can't drive, can't balance a checkbook, and can't come up with a cohesive message.

He questioned why there isnt some kind of gun examination before you buy a gun.

1. Because guns are a right, not a privilege.
2. Because this exam would be used to wantonly deny people of there rights, much like how reading tests denied blacks the right to vote during Jim Crow. There would be no good faith here.
3. This would set a minimum across the country but not guarantee universal carry so this would be big states infringing on small ones. Basically Cali would being telling KY their laws are too lax, then not allowing Kentuckian tourists to bring their guns.
4. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. 1776 WILL COMMENCE AGAIN. COLD. DEAD. HANDS.

They had armed security at that school. The FBI AND the police (who are the only ones the left want owning guns) failed at every level possible. Failed investigating him, failed charging him (oh no muh percentages!!!111!!!) Failed placing him on the watchlist. Failed preventing him from acquiring the gun, and failed preventing him from using it.

Every single step of that process a gun approved agent of the law failed and did so with an intent to conceal the problem to make themselves look better. So what's the answer?

This isn't even unusual failure for most PD's either what do we do? The ones who are supposed to stop this turned a blind eye and we're supposed to blame guns for it? Get out.

It is kind of an odd argument, right? People want to introduce strong gun control. Then you point to an amendment. Then they move from changing the law to changing the amendments.
It's basically the same argument that because it's legal it's ok, misunderstanding that people want to change the law.

Point # 2 is a good one though. It wouldn't be as bad as Jim Crow, but I get his point and that is bad.

the 10th amendment is kind of a cluster tbh

needs to be a better and more specific delineation of powers imho

It already is.

Anything the constitution didn't specifically assign to the federal government, or specifically forbid the states to do, is the authority of the states to deal with (or possibly counties or cities or something).

It's just that it's been increasingly ignored and eroded over the years, usually in the name of "interstate commerce".

No sir, you have to be 18 to own a handgun. You can be 14 and own a rifle in some states.
