I like the idea of a region filled with only new pokemons, but that doesn't cover all the nasty flaws these games have.

Dream World. Ugh.

Would casuals outside the fandom even care about the dream world? Everyone hated the lack of a post game.

The lack of a post game is a persistent flaw that shows up in Gen 5 through 7 (besides maybe B&W2), so I didn't bring that up because it isn't a "unique" flaw for a lack of a better word.

Also about the Dream World aspect, not really, but it's an egregious flaw regardless.

I'm just getting tired of this "here is the post game, we don't even want to write anything for finding legendaries so here's a hoopa ring or dimensional rift or whatever"

Game Freak and good writing are like antonyms from the very beginning, but those later post-games are just ass-pulls even by their standard.

They were fantastic games.

The Key System in B&W2 is so badly implemented. You literally need to beat the game and use the Unova Link to make the game easier and/or harder.

"Wanna play hard mode? Get a second DS and have a cleared black 2 file in one."

Plus those features like N's Pokemon that required having a cleared (whatever version you're playing but the prequel) copy. :/

I don't understand why there isn't a hard mode from the start. You know, where trainers don't act like idiots and use moves that have no effect when they have a super effective move

Pokemon could be a challenging game if they wanted it to be.

The problem is that Masuda is too concerned with maintaining the interest of children, who he feels could just play simpler games on smartphones if he lose them; this is also why the regions have gradually become more linear since Gen 4, and why there's more handholding in the games. To him, the postgame Battle facilities are for the older, hardcore players.

In bw1+2 the AI will always try a super effective move if possible. It's actually part of how those "look, we beat Cynthia with a level 1 team" strategies are even possible. The only exception being that one or two may opt for set up or status moves. Not sure how it works in the PWT.

I'm pretty sure that has been how AI work since 5th gen.

I don't wanna play the battle facilities...i want a more strategic main game. I am not a fan of breeding pokemon for the right attributes and IV and EV. That's just too much work.

I agree (though I've some to tolerate the IV-breeding part since it's much easier nowadays, and Natures and EVs can easily be manipulated), but the guys in charge believe differently and will likely remain so until some new blood gets into that position.

Why do people pretend any Pokemon gen is wildly worse than the others?

I'm a big fan of the games, but it's the same goddamn thing over and over with minor changes.

i like the concept and story of them. pokemon games are fucking boring for the most part and all just about the same, despite people who well tell you they're all radically different due to minute battle system mechanic adjustments.

black/white felt like the first time they were at least -trying- to mix up the formula since gold/silver. i appreciate the alola games for the same reason

That's one of the things I loved most about BW.

I'd love for them to do it again, but with how much they've been pandering to Gen 1 nostalgia since X/Y, I doubt that they will.

They also can't do that if they continue the trend of a lower number of new Pokemon each generation. Less than 100 new Pokemon won't cut it obviously.
