12 y/o Andrew Michael Leach, a sixth grader at Southaven Middle School in Mississippi has committed suicide after enduring years of BULLYING!!

He left a suicide note and hung himself last week after his 16 y/o brother found him hanging in his room...

His mother, Cheryl Hudson said that bullying was rampant at his school where BOTH of her sons had been cruelly tormented

She said "From what we are hearing, there was a group of kids that would go around calling him fat, ugly and worthless. I only spoke with the school's 6th grade principal. I didn't know how to handle it. His dad did talk to a teacher one time. A few years ago there was a young girl who hung herself from a water tower due to bullying. There have been several attempts since then with other kids"

A Gofundme page was created that raised over 9000 so far.

Between one quarter and one third of US students say they have been victims of bullying as suicide is the 3rd leading caues of death in America.

This is sad.. if my 9 year old son was bullied I'd have a talk with the bully's parents not the stupid school. If it didn't stop after I talked with the parents then I'd bully them until it stopped.. and boy would I "bully" the kids dad real good. Loser parents raising loser kids.

I think revenge poisonings are a lost art. Only Russia seems to properly appreciate them <3 <3 <3

Only when I let my hair grow out in high school. It gets really curly and wild once it's more than about 6" or so. Fortunately, other than that, my looks are the one thing I was never bullied over.

I've been bullied for the way I dress (was almost all hand-me-downs) and for my stuttering. It annoyed me at times but never got that bad that it scarred me.

Part of the problem is teachers and other school employees have their hands tied. We've PC'd ourselves into a corner. Gone are the days kids respected or at least feared the principal.

Another problem is very few teach their kids to be decent people anymore. Again, we've PC'd ourselves into a corner.

Finally, nobody teaches their kid to stand up for themselves anymore. It used to be if someone bullied you, a bloodied nose fixed that problem fast. Now, if a kid defends themself, they'll be the one in trouble.

Oh and yes, I dealt with bullies as a kid too. Dealt with, not cried or killed myself, dealt with.

The school system in that era is garbage. It is virulently racist, stuck in the "glorious 1950s America," and more concerned with nepotistic perpetuating of "good-ole-boys" in the system than progress.

Both the blacks and whites in Mississippi still despise each other, for the most part, and there isn't enough influx of industry or young educated talent to help. Those who can help the era end up leaving Mississippi.

Not really. When I started to gain weight, my sister "fat shamed" me in a half-jokingly way to make me understand I need to stop before I actually get fat. My ex used to constantly tell me how ugly my beard is so I'd shave it (it was borderline bullying, though).
