But we can't afford that right now, and that's just the first step. We literally have to spend thousands of dollars to fix a simple back injury so she can live without daily pain. Half the problem we have in the US is that we think an entitlement to healthcare means an entitlement to expensive and unnecessary tests. It depends on the hospital, but my wife recently had a bunch of fertility stuff done that wasn't covered by our insurance, and we're making payments interest free. The PT she's been seeing for six weeks said she needs an MRI, but I don't trust him since she hasn't gotten any better.
