Not really. Life isn't about me; it's about a purpose, responsibility and sacrifice; for family, a longterm community goal and most importantly, God.

And if I find a bit of happiness (selfishly) on the side, it's a bonus. But I don't expect it...

I'm not religious but is agree more with Alexandra. There are things in life that come before your own immediate happiness. We're lucky to live in a time and place where we don't have to worry about simply surviving as well

Oh no. please.....You're too kind. No, I am happy because I make my loved ones happy. Like my father and mother who sacrificed for us, I'm prepared to do the same for the next generation. I do however, concede that I'm just one individual and therefore insignificant in the greater scheme of things. I find small and simple happiness in little things and devotion to the ones I love.

I do hope to be worthy of Him someday. :))))

Very true. We are all His children however, we have to choose to live through this world as per his teachings and to hope to be how he intended us to be. But given our freewill, it's a little more complicated than that. XD

Right now, vanity and self righteousness is very close to most of the devout. And it's poison that easily masquerades as worthiness. This is what I often find myself pondering. Am I really worthy of His mercy? Is my assumption that I do His will a form of vanity and by extension, pride? Ah but well....life is about trying to figure these things out. :)

I'd say being happy is the most important thing. It's interesting that people want things out of life in the hope that it will make them happy yet these things can and often do bring there own problems with them. Of course these things are worth that risk as the pros would outweigh the cons in most cases I would think but it could just as easy go the other way and create more problems.

Still all that really matters if that you are happy with yourself and the path you're walking. If you're not then only you can make those changes to fix that. Don't dwell on the past as that can't be changed and don't dwell on the future as those things may never happen. All that really exists in today.

That's not what anyone is saying. It's just that your own personal fun level isn't usually the first priority in life unless you're a selfish asshole. Responsibilities will always come first but yeah... You can still have a fun life of course. Buy if say... your car breaks down... You're not gonna be like, "well I think I'd rather go play halo than fix this shit"

I'm not a pessimist. I just believe life is a little deeper and more complex than that. You can enjoy life and still believe that having fun isn't the entire point of life. There are ideas like purpose, responsibility, and morality that prevent me from having that simple outlook

Live life to fullest. Most stuff won't matter when you're dead, anyway. Haha.
