Nope. If the box is sealed I buy it. From a fast food place I normally make sure my order is correct before I leave though.

i think you misunderstood me, i meant buying it from a pizza place, a fresh pizza, not like walmart or something

You said store so what was I supposed to think? Still it's the same answer really. I'd check anything I buy unless it's sealed.

I only specifically do it when it's a place i don't go to very often.

I've gone to most of my local places so much/have friends working there to the point that they often know who I am, so I can generally be confident of the quality.

Sometimes I just wanna whiff of fresh pizza though so I'll open the box for that reason.

I never open a pizza box even at home I feel it is disrespectful to Italian Americans I gently splash water on the bottom while holding it up until the pizza is able to slide out naturally

I get that, but I've been burned a couple times so if it's dominos/pizza hut, I always check. With the smaller places, I'm not usually too worried because they usually have better service/food quality anyway.

My local Dominoes is known for screwing things up a whole lot. It's kind of great though, because you've got like a 5% chance on any order that you're getting something free or getting a voucher for your next order. At this point, they usually open up the boxes and show me just to confirm it's right. I think they know they mess up a lot.

The LC I go to actually tends to let me see it right when they hand it to me, kind of a nice touch in my opinion. If I'm picking up from some other place, it depends how many times they've given me an unacceptable product.

Usually don't even think about it. Very rarely, if it was a gigantic order for like, eight friends, then yes.

I always check. The one time I don't always seems to be the time they get something wrong... although they sometimes also get things wrong when I do check.

Ive somehow never received a wrong order on a pizza, so Ive never really checked it until Ive gotten home. Probably not the smartest way of going about it, but it never even dawns on me to check it.

Pizza joints seem far more consistent in getting orders right. I am a single male, I have ordered a TON of pizza in my life. I cannot think of a single time where my order has been wrong.

Actually we like to see you inspect your food while we are there if anything so if you do have a problem it can be fixed immediately.

Its the same in any food service job, and going by this topic I once again was fooled into thinking common sense wasnt common.

People are too avoidant of confrontation nowadays.

Story time. One time at the place I used to work at, we ordered several pizzas from the local Dominoes (the same one I mentioned in my previous post). I picked them up and did not open the boxes because I didn't know the place yet. They made five of the six correctly. The last was meant to be a spinach and feta pizza with Alfredo sauce. It was instead a burnt cracker covered in penne pasta, with dried spinach and feta.

I called the store. "Hey, I just picked up some pizzas and one was wrong."
(Hesitantly) "Yeah... Which one?"
"Well this has pasta on it."
(Knowing) "Yeah, I thought that was odd. Alfredo sauce comes through as pasta sauce on our thing. It must have gotten cut off."
"Uh... who would order a pizza with no sauce and pasta on it?"
"I know, man, I'm sorry."

They made us a new pizza and I think refunded the cost. Not the only story I have though.

Another time, I ordered a pizza for my wife to pick up on her way home. She got there and they said it would be a couple minutes. Ten minutes later, they admited to her that the delivery driver had taken our pizza and didn't have it when he got back. So they remade it while she waited. Thirty minutes later, they remade it again because they'd delivered it to someone else. We ended up getting free pizza and desert plus ten dollars off our next order from that one.

I ALWAYS check the pizza before leaving from Dominos or such.
It is almost always right, but there's been at least two times I recall that the pizza had the wrong toppings or some other issue and I had to have them bake me a new one.
Wouldn't want to get home before realizing there's a mistake, takes all of 5 seconds to check.

Same goes w/ fast food from the drive thru. I'll pull forward so the next person can go to the window, but stop and make sure it's all there before driving off.

No. I can't recall a single time that a pizza place has messed up my pizza order. If I ever order a sandwich then yeah, I usually check it, because sandwich places tend to mess something up.
