Do you think this pasty kid deserves prison whether his picture was a joke or not?

18 y/o Pasty Kid, Jacob Michael Graham from Detroit is facing 20 YEARS in Prison after he threatened to shoot up his school!!

The ugly hair teen is behind bars after he posted a pic of himself with his AR-15 Rifle on Snapchat and said "Next School Shooter"...police saw the picture and promptly arrested him when he was pulled out of class at Chippewa Valley High School.

A parent saw the post and immediately notified school officials, who then called police.

He claimed the instagram post was a "joke"

Police went to his parent's house and rummaged through his belongings and computer as his mother was very cooperative but obviously upset

No guns were discovered nor does the family own any firearms as the AR-15 he posted with was a rental...and there was no evidence he planned an attack either

He is charged with one count of a false report or threat of terrorism which punishable up to 20 years in prison. He is also charged with misuse of a telcommunications device, a misdemeanor

He is held on 150,000 cash or surety bond as a preliminary exam is to determine if he will stand trial on March 26th

A Female Heifer was also discovered to have posted a threatening post with an AR-15 according to California police and it's not known if the girl was arrested since the picture went wide.

Dailymail uncovered THIRTY EIGHT different incidents or threats since the shooting in Florida

Do you think this kid should go to Prison whether it was a joke or not?

Why are people still doing this. While it was dumb as hell to make these "jokes" right after it happen. People have seen others get arrested for it. At this point it is clear that this is something you don't joke about. I just don't get it.

Unless I'm mistaken it's still only "up to 20 years". Realistically, if he gets time, it's prob gonna be a year/2 max and some probation/fines.

It's about damn time the police started cracking down on kids who basically act like internet trolls in real life as if there are no consequences for what you say and do. It's going to be a beautiful rude-awakening for the generation of indoor-children. And again, it's about damn time. Fucking dumbass kids like this Jacob Michael Graham are the reason why America sucks.

Oh really? He made a targeted threat? Because what I read is the difference between saying I'm gonna kill and I'm gonna kill <insert name here>. Which just so happens to be the difference between speech and threat! Whaddaya know. Stupid tasteless joke, but a crime this is not. Personally I hope some hotshot lawyer sees this and blows it out of the water. The fallout from this could actually set back defenses against shooters if it's determined the investigation wasn't constitutional.

This is why we don't get stupid with the law. They could have investigated, held him for a while giving him a real bad time, let him go and accomplished exactly what this will for no money at all, but we need to waste money ruining some kid's life. All I can say is I hope it comes for you and yours next if you truly believe this is acceptable.

It's stupid more than it is criminal. That's what makes me hesitate.

I was 17 back during 9/11 and I was extremely immature at that age. I made some really dumb comments on message boards back then that probably would have gotten me arrested if they were made today.

So idk, I remember what it felt like to be as immature as that guy. It's hard to say, man. He did make a threat, but at the same time it's extremely unlikely that it was serious. He probably just wanted attention. Ruining is entire life over it... I mean, idk maybe the prosecutor who's pushing for this knows something we don't that made his threat more serious than it appeared?

Your post here is exactly why the florida shooter, despite telling EVERYBODY he was gonna shoot the place up, over the course of months/years, still got nothing done to him.

If a person has a gun and is insinuating that they're going to kill people, take them seriously.

I think a year minimum would be fair. a highly publicized case to serve as an example, and anybody after this guy should get no less than 5.

people who get 10+ years never come back the same. they're less functional, thus long sentences being counter productive to rehabilitation.

mental health should looked into. the majority of these school shooter types are social outcast.

Exactly. I can't believe some people are so passive about this when these are some of the exact things Nikolus Cruz (sp?) did. Funny how it was all a "joke" when the polic were involved. If you're going to post pictures like that you have to be a little mentally unstable.
