When Half-Life first came out in 1998 it was a breakthrough in 3D gaming at the time.

Half-Life 2 released in 2004 at a time where interactable environments, advanced AI and physics were being implemented into games.

Now VR is becoming more and more prevalent and technologically sound...

Half-Life 3 will be a VR game but will not be released until VR is more solid and more wildly owned by gamers.

Half-Life games have always been shown to be a leap into the next generation of gaming.

The next leap is VR.

Half-Life 3 is just a meme on the internet where when something strange happens on a youtube video, people write "Half-Life 3 confirmed".

Half-Life 3 confirmed is just as likely as KH3 being released in 2018 XD

Valve is little more than a storefront now. They make money when someone else makes games.

What do you mean by "this generation"? As obviously consoles won't VR properly this gen. Rift and Vive are both going strong however.

vr isn't there yet. vr is one step back in a generation.

i think tech is still growing faster that half life 3 could be it's own simulated world. No load times, but skyrim/oblivion beat them to it. So the next thing would be half life 3 using Real-World Physics Equations. Right now we just fudge the numbers because it cost less.

VR won't be mainstream until it's included with every console and the total price for both is $500 or less.

because valve is mostly done making games. half life 3 will never come out.

HL3 will never be released because Valve is making money hand over fist for doing practically nothing with Steam and there is no justification to put forth the effort of making a large AAA game.
