I feel the same way about any piece of media that has a sex scene, it's always so uncomfortable and I want to skip it most of the time.

That one scene in RDR didnt bother me, but thats mostly because your character walks into the room while the other two are going at it. Youre not initiating anything, or creating any sort of romance. Its just sort of part of the cutscene, and theyre already going at it when you walk in. Youre not there for all of that awkward, wooden kissing and gazing at each other.

But whenever theres any sort of romantic buildup or two characters are beginning to engage each other affectionately, its never animated in anything resembling a natural interaction. Just looks robotic and lacking any passion.

I won't act like the immature folks that pounce when people ask for options to turn down/off gore. You shouldn't have to sit through a sex scene without being able to skip it, but the last thing we need is the Puritan nonsense that infected this country while I grew up.

They play porn over the air in parts of Europe at night and have for ages.

Here in the USA? "OMG butts or sideboob God will come for us now and this is a national health crisis because reasons!!!!!111"

It's not that sex is worse than violence in real life, it's that it's fucking cringe-worthy in video games. Aside from some thirsty perverts, nobody is going to shamelessly sit back and revel in it.

The worst is when directors/writers who also star in the film put themselves into their own sex scenes. Seems totally creepy, even if the sex isn't completely real.

I suppose I don't really like sex scenes in movies either, but the stray pair of boobs here and there is fine. Same thing with video games, but some video games just take it too far and manage to make the nudity non-sexualized but gratuitous at the same time.

I haven't seen any sex scenes in games other than actual porn games, but I don't see why the concept of sex in games is such a bad thing anyway, at least compared to violence. Unlike violence, people most people do have a sexual drive, and have sex and/or masturbate. It's a totally natural thing unlike violence which should only be used when absolutely necessary. If you're gonna label people who enjoy it in games as thirsty perverts, then you'd have to call anyone who enjoys the graphic violence of Mortal Kombat as equally unbalanced.
