Why not FFT2 by the FFT team?

As if theyve been sitting around as a collective team, unwavering, for 20 years. Just biding their time to make a new game

Only if they kept the battle system the same. I hated the one in the Advance games, and I don't want it like Xcom

Bahamut will spit a fire all so large it literally destroys the entire battlefield and it will still miss the enemy.

As far as I remember, summons that deal hard damage (not percentile damage like Lich) don't miss.

Is XCom still allergic to overhead views, or was that something else?

Let Nippon Ichi do it, instead. FFT full of ridiculous number-porn would be great, instead of just limiting the absurd numbers to Orlandu and Agrias.

i think a lot of the magic would be lost if they used the same storytelling mechanic as FFT

The implication here is that they would make a game with FFT lore and XCOM gameplay, but tbqh I don't really want that

FFT full of ridiculous number-porn

An isometric tactical game with number porn already exists and it's called Disgaea.

Part of FFT's appeal are its tight battle mechanics between the speed/CT system and array of RNG invoking between evasion and status success rates. To that end, XCOM team could probably do amazing things with it.

It could be a prequel, focusing on Balbanes and the Fifty Years war.

Yeah, because they took a serious world and story about life, death, and what "class" truly means, as well as the price of ambition, threw in a little religion is actually evil! Kill god! (Aka Japan) And wrapped it all up in a battle system so tight people are still playing it today specifically for that.

Then they released I'm bullied: The Tantrum Edition - took all the battle mechanics out, and washed it down with completely risk-free gameplay. The Judge system was moronic, and who gave a crap if someone fell, nothin's gonna happen. It was a game about and for children. Considering what preceded it was arguably the greatest TRPG ever released, l i t t l e m o n e y and all.

Edit - back on topic, I'd at least give it a shot. Summons missing would make me rage, lol.

I'd rather the next FFT be done by the Disgaea team. I've always found their tactics mechanics to be the most fun and flexible.
