Depends on what you're doing. Exploration can present you with times where you have to fly straight for several minutes to reach your destination.

I remember a story that came out the week before Christmas where some player took on a job to take actual in-game trash items (I think they were coffee mugs or something) and "deliver" it to an extreme edge of the galaxy where it would be impossible to refuel. And the player got trapped there and this organization of players that apparently is like the in-game charity version of AAA went out to bring supplies and stuff and the whole time the article was writing it like "They didn't know if she was going to get rescued before Christmas" and crap like that.

Alright I mean I love video games but if you "don't know if you'll be able to log off the game before an actual real point in time" because of something like this, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your life...

I've only had to do this at one station in the entire game

And I heard they're eventually going to fix how long it takes to get to said station. Hutton Orbital

It's about as true of a simulation as you will ever find. It can be slow and has a very difficult learning curve until you figure out what you want to do. I enjoyed it for what it was though, a game doesn't have to be super fast paced and all 'pew pew pew' for me to like it.

It's definitely not for everyone.

Yeah there's a solo mode. It's pretty much the same as Open (multiplayer), but without the occasional real player that you pass by in space.

Actually the exact opposite. If you run out of fuel the best thing to do is log out and wait until the Fuel Rats make it to your location to help.
As soon as you run out life support kicks in and provides you with a limited amount of air (usually 15mins).

I used to play it and really enjoyed it, but earning enough for the bigger ships got tedious after a while.

Got wrapped up in the faction system and without realising it, made enough for a Imperial Clipper. Had a lot of fun with it, but then i realised how long it would take me to get the Cutter and gave up.

Might try it again if there's an update.

I hear the new rewards system makes it faster to make rank.

I've still just been collecting the cash rewards since the Cutter isn't enough to make me wonder about it.
