Fire Emblem Heroes feels like one of the more free player friendly Gacha games I have played/

Dissidia Opera Omnia is great. The characters are all free so you can play with your favorites without any stupid bullshit. You only have to gacha the equipment.

I wasted like 300 orbs between December and now, and I only got 1 5*, which wasn't even a focus and I already had.

Gacha games are a mixed blessing

Having one's power tied to a slot machine has it's boons and banes; sometimes it's cool to use that OP as balls relic/item/character, and sometimes it's cool to use a bunch of consolation prizes and still do everything you need to.

(Personally, I deleted FEH because much of the game revolves around a 4 person squad set up by other players, and this is back in the day when Takumi and Hector were top Meta. enemy comps got too similar and leveling up people took too long)

You have to chase for single characters though, it isn't like Final Fantasy Record Keeper where a good relic or two for a character can usually make them usable. Speaking of we have a (presumably one time) kingdom hearts event. Sora and riku have a lot of relics but you need two specific ones to make riku work and three of the like seven for sora, with one being mandatory and another being an "a or b" and you'll need another one for the benefit. Basically, giant money sink to make them usable and there's zero guarantee they will have anything to make them useful in 6 months.

As long as the game gives people enough freebes so that you can be a free player and compete I am fine with them. I was a free player on Brave Frontier for two years and never felt that too far behind. There were plenty of ways to get gems without buying them so I never felt like I needed to buy anything.

FEH feels the same way.

The big difference is they are free games which is why they can get away with it while sixty dollar AAA games cannot.

Err, no you don't have to chase characters. There are limited ones but they're still free, just do two easy quests.

The equipment is another story but you can share equipment. I've got Orgenix on Squall right now for example. The only thing you miss out on is the affinity ability which is usually good but rarely game changing. The biggest part of the equipment is the stats.

Yeah you are right it is gambling. Like I said I play them free. I probably spent five bucks on Brave Frontier when I played it for two years and never spent a dollar on any other Gacha game.

That said if the practice ends I won't shed a tear.

But at least you can progress early on for free it sounds like. Wish that had been true with the kingdom hearts x unchained game. Getting stuck for a week or two because they didn't have enough stuff to level your attacks yet sucked, especially since people who paid got tons of Cids and exp ducks early on, when they actually mattered and people didn't have more than they could hope to use

Extreme optimization to the level some JP players take it is not required in this game. The 70 cp weapons are an issue but nothing requires them to complete. You can do a lot with undergeared characters. If you just want to play with your favorites, the game won't charge you extra to do it.

Without jp banners and the like, I definitely wouldn't be able to avoid spending more money in FFRK. Haven't paid since thanksgiving and it was one of those banners that had one of those future proofing items. Nabbed it, no less. ^^ didn't get the mage one which would have more long lasting impact but the physical one has launched me past the barriers I was getting caught on. DPS races, oh joy.

Yeah, the game triggered the hell out of me after I found out legendary Ike was being given for free after I spent all of my orbs that I have been saving up (300) and didnt get him nor any other 5 star from the last legendary banner.

I just want regular lance Azura at this point. Didn't get her when I sniped blues in the most recent banner. Probably just going to save orbs at this rate until Micaiah or Azura are back as the focus units.

Yeah. I just recently made a topic about how the game reminded me about why I quit it.

I came back the other day to see what the game was doing And they gave me 70 free orbs. Played them all on the big banner with an 8% chance for a 5 star hero. Got nothing but 3 and 4 star trash. Noped right out of there.

Agreed. Fire Emblem Heroes is one of the more generous gacha games out there. I've heard horror stories from FGO players ten times worse than anything I've heard about in FEH. I've mostly been a free player in Heroes, only dropping money to buy orbs for a banner one single time ($20 for the Sacred Stones banner, and I pulled the dragon loli I wanted) the whole year+ the game has been out. Even so, I've managed to pull most of the focus units that I really went for since the game's release.

I dropped most other gacha games I tried within a couple of months. Even card pulls in Yugioh Duel Links eventually wore me down and made me uninstall since I couldn't catch up. But FEH has never made me think of uninstalling the game because I felt like I couldn't get what I needed to stay in line with other players.

Like the only Fate and Idolmaster stuff that's out there now is related to the gacha shit. I don't know who any of these 500000 new characters that they introduce are and they dominate everything now

I love Summer Gaius. I don't love my -ATK Summer Gaius, which is a super IV and puts him at 38 attack. Nyeh. :(

But yeah, FEH is generally solid for a gacha, I think. I've put like $30 into the game since launch, and I have 84 5*s, without counting merges (+1 Effie, +2 Masked Marth, +1 Eliwood, +1 Leon, +6 Niles, +1 Peri), and others that I've burned off for fodder.

IMO, don't expect any 5*s without putting in 80-100 orbs though. I think that's one of the biggest mistakes I see my casual friends make: they put in 20-40 orbs and expect 5*s. I think you have to near the 100 mark on average to reliably get anything. It's still a gacha at the end of the day.
