honestly when you get down to the final 10 or 15 in those types of games, skill goes out the window and it's pretty much a game of chance. in the case of fortnite it's who got luckier with weapon drops, who just happens to have a better position relative to other players in the shrinking storm eye, etc

I've been playing PUBG for a few weeks and really enjoy it. But I'm not sure about the cartoon-look and structure building in Fortnite.

I mean it's free so you might as well try it

Yeah basically. When it was down to 3 the guy who won took out the other guy while I hid because I only had like 50 health and no shields. He had a rocket launcher. I was done for

I got 1 win ever, in squad-- me, 2 friends, and a random happened to hide out from the beginning near the final area. Then the random went Rambo and took out 2 squads while they were fighting each other

I don't think I agree with this in regards to PUBG. It seems like the smaller the circle, usually the better-skilled player wins.

with PUBG, I feel that when you're down to the final 10 and the circle is really small, everyone is pretty much forced to run into the circle and then it's a matter of who more or less got lucky with positioning, since it basically devolves into everyone blasting everyone on sight and seeing who is standing when the smoke clears.

Ended up winning. Me and two friends literally were building a mansion on top of a random mansion and even built a giant stairway to the sky that ended up breaking. The circle kept closing on us until us and another squad were the only ones left, but they were at the bottom of the mountain, so we ended them. EZ win

3rd person PUBG is heavily dependent on circle RNG and the RNG can absolutely decide the winner

1st person PUBG the better player usually wins unless they make a really stupid positioning mistake or just dont have any decent loot

idk about Fortnite really though, I haven't played it much since the first week or so it was out and everyone was so bad at it then that I could just kinda derp my way into the top 5 consistently and I won like every 3rd or 4th game. I'd probably suck if I went back to it now that some people have hundreds of hours in it lol

I felt this way in the beginning, but then I started landing in crowded spots to force myself to get into firefights quickly. It's much better after you get the hang of it.

Yeah I've heard a lot of people say it's good practice to jump with the crowd, that way you're forced to practice firefights. You'll probably lose but it's good experience and once you get good then you start going off in the middle of nowhere. Maybe I need to start that

It's not very fun at first, because you will lose a lot at first, but you get better.

It still pisses me off to start a game, wait for the plane, pick a spot, spend time to jump and parachute, then fucking die within 20 seconds of landing.

That literally just happened to me. Dropped down to this secluded house in the middle of bum fuck nowhere. I didn't see anyone drop in around the vicinity. I walk inside and blam, dude just sitting by the door with a shottie takes me out instantly and then dance emotes on top of me.

My friends and I usually win a few games each day. Here are some tips and yes, when there are >15 people left, the game becomes very dependent on luck.

-Play outside the circle and move as the storm closes in. You can easily kill people trying to run into the circle since they are focused on getting away from the storm.

-If you rather build, play on elevated surfaces. Higher ground is a serious advantage and having a fort allows you to headglitch. More often than not you will get screwed wherever the circle shrinks. Traps are a must and serve as a deterrent more than anything else. Launch pads are also one of the most useful items in the game since it's good for emergency exits or breaching someone's fort.

-If the zone favors you and you are already set up in a fort, destroy as many trees, rocks, and shacks as you can so no one can take cover if they try to flank you. Also shoot bushes to make sure no one is hiding in one.

-Rockets, miniguns, and grenades aren't good for killing enemies. If you have rockets, grenades, or miniguns, hide back and just use them to blow everything up while your team flanks. 9/10 times the enemies are focused trying to rebuild or run away. The sounds of destruction also cover up your teammates approaching.

I've been playing all day and dying to absolute bullshit.

*Steps on the corner of a trap with full health and shields and dies*

*Sets up trap in Tilted Towers where someone will open a door and fall three floors onto a spike trap, hides to finish them off if they somehow survived the fall damage plus spike damage. Someone falls, gets spiked, I shoot them, they turn around and one shot me with a shotgun*

*Throws controller at the TV*

Spike traps never seem to work for me. People hit my traps and barely take damage. I'm like Mega Man though and all it takes is my pinkie toe touching a spike and I get obliterated.

Anyway I'm playing more tonight. I'm hungry for a win

So far I've won one solo game a few weeks ago. The number 2 guy was my only kill because I hid in a bush the whole game :D

I logged on two days ago and apparently they place you in squads now? I saw you can opt out but didn't try it.

If you opt out do you get placed with solos and duos?

Being placed in a squad was a huge turn off for me tbh.

Was playing with friends last night and a friend got super pissed in how he died. A random was shooting at one of my other friends and then just randomly turned around and 1-shot the first friend. Was like WHAT THE FUCK! He was going after him dammit!

I never build towers when I'm that close. I sneak around letting them shoot at each other and try breaking the bottom walls so they collapse.

Had one game the other day where I did that as another guy was building a bridge from his tower. He jumped down to start shooting and the tower collapsed and they both fell. One died but the other killed me :(
