Why is it so hard for them to understand Im not interested in dating, hook ups etc? I just want to play my guitars, discover new music and record my own little songs. My mom and siblings get what Im saying but the rest of the family never shut up about how its weird I havent been on a date in 3 years or how whenever a girl shows interest in me I dont even attempt to get to get to know them.

I dont want a partner because Im a quiet person by nature and like the company of my pets. I have never liked kids so I dont want any and I have never had any interest in the idea of marriage. Apparently Im not normal but my cousin who fucks anything with a pulse is just trying to find her prince.

Im 28 at the end of this year BTW

Did you all consider maybe the local girls TC knows are meh as far as dating material? Maybe he's not at a point in his life where he's starving to share his time with someone else. And he might not feel comfortable using dating apps if he doesn't feel that invested in the first place.

Wouldnt focus on the past. Also try to shut out family noise. My only two cents is that with dating if you stay out of the game for years and years you will 1) miss out probably - there are always plenty of dating opportunities, unless youre just asexual now you shouldnt be so cynical...finding a great partner usually requires effort from you as a guy; 2) if you dont date and have that experience with long term relationships by the time you actually are looking to settle down, good luck.

I don't know about TC, but I know I find plenty of women attractive (and even some men), but I'm not willing to put up with the endless list of down-sides that comes with trying to forge a relationship or even just have sex.

Just not worth it to me personally, and the whole thing has only gotten worse as I've gotten older, what with the ever-increasing divorce rate, child-rearing is a goddamn mine field of what is or isn't considered acceptable parenting, everything counts as rape these days, and cuckoldry isn't just some CE meme.

All that and I have to contend with my own personal trauma of having been molested when I was 9, so I'm not super-keen on being touched and scared to death of touching someone else myself (*especially* if its a woman because that's who my attacker was).

It's only awkward because as a guy you're expected to show some sort of interest back and I find it hard to be able to tell a girl i'm not interested. I'm similar in regards to not being interested in having a long term partner yet I get put in the situation your talking about once a month and almost every time it ends up with the girl accusing me of being an asshole since I don't show any interest back >_>
