A lot of Americans tend to view most Muslims as terrorists, but America killed 100 to 200 thousand Japanese civilians in the span of three days. That's a lot more casualties than Muslim terrorist groups ever racked up.

Nagasaki and Hiroshima were major military targets, many of those were the soldiers garrisoning the place

Maybe the generation that was alive during WW2 has some negative feelings leftover, but there are other issues that Japanese citizens are more likely to have strong opinions on (like nuclear energy).
