Well it is semantics when its not actually a school shooting but its counted as such cause its within a certain distance of a school.

the dumb part is we dont need to fluff the school shooting numbers but certain websites do it anyway

Committing suicide shouldnt be classified that way. If not a gun he would have found another way to do it. Using that to artificially inflate violent crime stats is a sham.

We are taking about suicide. Dont pull something out of context. If someone decides they want to commit suicide then they will try, gun or no gun.

Youre trying to use some BS argument to artificially bolster another statistic which is a fallacy. A suicide in a school bathroom is not the same as some psychopath murdering 17 people in a school regardless of guns being involved in both situations.

Wasnt one of the school shootings a guy shooting himself (and only himself) in the parking lot of a school? And he wasnt even a student there?

It just seems a little dishonest to me to call that a school shooting because the term brings to mind an incident in which one or more students were shot. I mean its technically correct but still sort of misleading when you know what people think of when they hear school shooting.

We are taking about suicide. Dont pull something out of context. If someone decides they want to commit suicide then they will try, gun or no gun.

I've read that suicide is often an impulsive act, and that even a slight bit of inconvenience (such as not having immediate access to a tool that is designed to easily kill things) is often enough to make people reconsider. Most people who commit suicide do not approach it as an "any means necessary" type of situation.

More accurate data gives us better solutions to the problem.

If all 18 of those were accidently discharging a weapon, we would address the problem in a different way than if all 18 were kids going on killing sprees. Well, sane people would at least.

If the argument that some people want to make is "This happens way too much and therefore we need more gun control." then the number of times it happens actually does matter and therefore it matters when people lie about it.

Why does the left care more about Trump lying about his crowd size then they do about lying about the number of mass shootings? Oh right, because pointing out one lie helps their agenda while pointing the other lie would hurt their agenda.
