I've made topics before but I have OCD. I see a therapist every week and my condition has been much better than it was a year ago. I also take medication.

But I still can't do some things or I feel like I'm not ready yet.

I stay at home all day and it gets boring. I have applied at two different places for work but they never even called me. I will attempt again soon even though sometimes I feel good and other times my anxiety and compulsions get the best of me.

It doesn't help that I possibly have sleep apnea. I had a sleep study scheduled last week, however I cancelled it because my insurance did not authorize it on time. Now I have to wait a couple of months again. This sucks because I'm always physically tired and usually force myself to do things.

I'm so bored! You know what would help me out? If I had a PC capable of playing the latest games but I can't afford it! I asked my parents to let me borrow money but they refuse. It's funny because they let my brothers borrow money in the past and it took them a very long time to pay it back. I don't understand it.

I really hope I get hired somewhere nearby. I can't find a job too far because of my anxiety issues. Driving with anxiety sucks. Filling out an online application with OCD and anxiety sucks. Quick story: I prepare myself to fill out an application all day long and when I finally feel ready to fill it out, the job position I want is no longer available. It did appear a day or so later, but I need to prepare myself for it. Ugh!!!!

Maybe you can get a lot of basic information ready early. And just transfer over the info as soon as the job is available. Or ask for help from a close friend or family member.

Those are some good suggestions I will try. Thank you!

I don't have many books. I started reading one a few weeks ago and have another one I can start reading. I guess the reason I don't really read books is because I get sleepy after 10-20 minutes or so. That happens even when I'm enjoying the book.

I say this often - make sure you're taking the RIGHT medication. Benzos and Tricyclics do nothing for OCD, only the related anxiety

Plus assuming you aren't in 3rd world country American Medical - you can get a therapist to do a year of ERP with you (exposure and reaction prevention)

You got a point about the medication. I think I am taking the right one but haven't seen the doctor that prescribed it in 2 months. I'll have to set up an appointment soon.

I see a theraphist already and we're working on things already.

Literally none of that or anything mentioned in the topic has to do with OCD.

Because I didn't go into full details. People with OCD have anxiety.

What you're describing sounds more like a generalized anxiety disorder, not any anxiety that might result from OCD. The kind of anxiety that an obsessive-compulsive might feel is more along the lines of, "Did I really lock that door?", which prompts them to drive back home twice just to make sure that the door is actually locked and even after that second check there's still some anxiety about that door possibly being unlocked.

And if your therapist is telling you that being nervous about filling out a job application or driving is the result of your OCD, you probably need to find a new therapist.

No, he did not say that. I never said that he did. I don't know where you got that from.

I'm aware filling out the application is due to anxiety, but I did not want to post all of the details. I did repeat some steps in order to get to the job page. Simply thought I shouldn't have posted those details because they go without saying whne it comes to OCD.
