came from a topic where I got on a streamers case for staying up all night frequently and going to sleep just before 10:00 AM and waking up at 8 or 9

because that seemed hella unhealthy to which a majority called me out saying that's untrue

10am - 8pm is about 10 hours. which is a reasonable amount of sleep. the only real downside is just like, back pain and stuff from laying down that long. the times you actually sleep dont matter much. body works the same at 10am as it does 10pm. why do you think it's unhealthy to sleep for 10 hours?

That may have happened to you but funny enough you're not everyone. I don't sleep as much these days but have slept more than 10 hours before frequently and never got fat nor felt groggy due to it. As someone has already said it doesn't matter what time you go to bed or get up providing you get the sleep you require.

I believe that I once heard that 8 hours is too much and bad for you. But it's different for everyone. Some people can work all day on like 4 hours and be perfectly fine. I'm just always tired no matter how much or little I sleep.

Over-sleeping afaik has similar health impacts to sleep deprivation. Granted, a lot of the research into the subject has been kinda correlary.
