ayyyy my first down

So first off, red and black is my favorite color combination. So right off the bat this hits me. Second, this album cover I think matches the album so well. It's full of sound, almost claustrophobic with the cacophony of music being put into it and the atmosphere it evokes. And then the center of it all, with the group of people to the left side and the highway with car lights speeding on the right. And then I love the title of the album too, not that that has much to do with the cover but still. I'll admit if you haven't listened to this album really, it probably doesn't do too much. Actually if you break down the cover piece by piece, a lot of the images link with songs on the album. It's pretty nifty.

A lot of what I nominated have to do with evoking a certain mood, even if it's not a generally pleasant cover (because oh man some of the others I have left)

I like how you put that Bane, with the claustrophobic sound, I definitely get that too. And I also love the title, I think it ties in to the cover pretty well.

35. Finch
Nominated by: Gatarix (0/6 remaining)
Pp4gt2L

This cover oozes with class and mystery, looking like a cross between hard-boiled detective noir and an Indiana Jones fantasy adventure. The rust-covered artwork looks appropriately wet and grungy, as if a long-lost relic, but what I really love here is the way everything is arranged and pictured in the pistol, granting a sense of all the different elements the story will be about. There's a deep sense of unease with the shadowed man, whilst parchment and brick walls exude danger and conspiracy. It's capped all off with an interesting flower design, either a bad omen for the scene or one that portrays hope.

34. Gammarauders

Not all covers need to be totally meaningful and serious. Sometimes a cover that's so out there and wild and weird can be just as effective in selling your product. Case in point, Gammarauders. "They're monsters! They're machines! They're here!" Well isn't that the foreboding statement. But If I'm able to make machine-monsters like a robo-t.rex with a heat lamp and a penguin with a turret and umbrella on its head and a life preserver for a lower body count me in! I actually quite like the detail put into this post-apocalyptic wasteland too, especially the skull motorcyclist and the design of the flying cars. Consider this cover a success in marketing.

33. Final Fantasy VI
Nominated by: Zyxyz0 (1/6 remaining)
Aw7kb7s

Final Fantasy VI's cover captures the imagination of a generation, and is very well the best cover in the series. I love the image of an impossible city, drab and devoid of hope in its design, spread in front of a young girl bursting with color and dreams even whilst she uses the black technology for her own. Like the best of Final Fantasy's locations, Final Fantasy VI's cover combines fantastical steampunk with romance, idealism, and sci-fi concepts to create a unique vision and the feeling of adventure and discovery.
