Could you honestly kill these cute rats?

A Giant 20 POUND Rat was found in California as the giant nutria, known as the coypu, is around 2 feet, 6 in ches long with a 12 inch tail that is capable of destroying roads, levees and wetlands!!

The California Dept of Fish and Wildlife issued a warning last week about these influx of rats as they were caught reproducing within the San Joaquin Valley

They can cause major wildlife destruction and consume 25% of their body weight each day.

Since 2017, more than 20 nutria have been sptted but that number could increase as they give up to up to 200 offspring per year

There has been traps set out to capture these rodents and they are asking the public's help to spot them immediately

But could you honestly kill these cute animals? let's see if people would

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echimyidae
It has been classified for a long time as the only member of the family Myocastoridae. However, studies based on the comparison of DNA and protein sequences showed that Myocastor is nested within Echimyidae, the family of the spiny rats.

Yes and no. They're currently classified under the Echimyidae family, which contains Neotropical spiny rats and their fossil relatives. So they are a type of spiny rat. Furthermore their genus name, Muridae, translates into 'beaver rat' and they have been referred to as river rats and swamp rats . However, what people typically associate as rats are from the family Muridae and coypu aren't closely related to them.

They were imported from Argentina for fur farms, and apparently their meat is reasonably palatable.
