When I got my wisdom teeth removed, they gave me Hydrocodone and Percocet but I don't remember being told not to combine them.

Took a Hydro, didn't do much for the pain.

Took a Perc, didn't do much for the pain.

Took both together, I couldn't feel a damn thing <_< I believe it's what they scientifically call being "high as fuck"

then i understood how people get hooked on pain meds and was like "yeah i probably shouldn't take anymore"

Not entirely on topic but I got codeine or something like that after a surgery where they put a chain into my jaw/teethline. It didn't do much for me and didn't make me feel 'high' or anything. Which confuses me because I have poor impulse control and my family has a history of addiction

I know it's different for different people but, considering how I reacted to my pain meds after having my gallbladder removed (hydrocodone I think), it's nice to know getting addicted to that particular one could never happen.

They killed the pain, certainly, but there was no "high" whatsoever. Also, after the first couple days of healing, taking just one left me horribly nauseated for hours. A common side-effect apparently - I gave up on using them after that even though I was still in great pain.

Guess this is a "high strength meds" topic now.

Jaw surgery. And clowning around letting a guy hit me in sparring. Hell of a punch though. The surgery was actually years later but the punch was what knocked my lower teeth out of alignment.

At a strongman competition. Got amped up on Rockstars, coffee, and adrenaline. Berserk-rushed the 700 lb tire (I'd lifted 600 two years ago no problem) and instantly felt the bicep tendon snap in half and my bicep roll up, detached from my lower arm. Went to the ER and had reattachment surgery a few weeks later.

Definitely be a little more careful next time. Lifting is not quite like fighting where you need to let instinct take over.

I've gotten blackout drunk once where I couldn't even walk unassisted and I felt like dogshit for 2 days afterwards

And then I went and rewatched the finale of Avatar: TLA because that's the night it happened

When I was 14 or 15 I got so drunk I had to be carried and didn't even realize cops had come and started grilling us. Since I didn't acknowledge them they made my friends let go of me... I faceplanted and vomited without even lifting my head.

Alright some actual things I'll never do again.

Eat two edibles when I have no idea how potent they are, on an empty stomach.
Take any chances with drinking after having taken pain meds. (It was either one generic acetaminophen or ibuprofen, hours earlier. It still wasn't fun.
Trust a door-to-door salesman.
In fact, just opening the door ever before checking the peephole. The number of times I've opened it to two impeccably-dressed people holding a book...

Drinking a triple espresso Monster. Gave me a huge burst of energy that I didn't know what to do with and I could feel my heart beating out of my chest. That was kinda scary.
