Interactions, any notes they might have on responses from the patient, insurance and payment (something computers can not and will not be able to do automatically barring a swap to universal coverage and even then, not without other issues). Oh. And also a machine can't answer any questions you might have about the medicine. Plus there's the whole "as they fill prescriptions they need to order more to have in stock for other customers" thing and there's issues with automatic replenishing systems, especially since most pills consist of prescription sorts that will be repeatedly needed, but there's other ones that are still extremely common to fill prescriptions for because people get sick or injured and will only temporarily need them. Doctor's offices still send medications patient are either contraindicated for, can't afford, interact with meds, or, god forbid, enter the prescription incorrectly/dose it wrong. I have seen a few really bad typos and the like for prescriptions from older medical systems. Modern ones typically have say, "1.5 mg such and such/ 3 mg such and such" types of options for prescribing a drug, with the number of pills being determined based on that and the amount of days the prescription is for. Older ones, not so much. Modern ones typically have say, "1.5 mg such and such/ 3 mg such and such" types of options for prescribing a drug, with the number of pills being determined based on that and the amount of days the prescription is for. Older ones, not so much. Especially hand written systems. :l Doesn't help that there's some systems that allow hand written prescriptions then they scan them into the patient file, since those can have other issues when it comes to the billing side of things</quote> ... Also, robots are already replacing pharmacy technicians in busy pharmacies.
