Let me tell you, as a previous connoisseur of the free garbage available on the PS4, Paragon was a bad time. I would rather play SMITE forever than a match a Paragon, but it was pretty!

I am consistently amazed at how many of these multiplayer exclusive experiences can co-exist and thrive as well as they do. Juggling all of them seems impossible, haha, at least to the extent people who watch these streams to get good.

Ive dipped my toes into the pool of League, and it ended with someone telling me to go play Pac-Man instead of serious games. I am a special brand of awful at MOBAs. Except SMITE, I was actually okay at that one.

The only MOBA I played was HotS to get Overwatch items. I have no shame.

that's why streamers typically play few games with skills that don't cross-contaminate between them. you don't Stream Fortnite and Overwatch, you do one and pair it with something like Hearthstone.

Oh, yeah, my friend got me to play that once. It made even less sense to me than League, but I did get a sweet Oni Genji skin.

And I guess that makes sense, to play one game like PUBG and then one of the other streaming giants that isnt a shooter. Does Minecraft still get an insane level of streaming, or is that more the realm of the YouTube video?

huh, weird PS4 change. PS+ games are now in a distinct list separate from your purchased games list... but also in your purchased games list. and some games I definitely bought are in the PS+ list. I must've missed Binding of Isaac being given out.

so I got two months of Game Pass for $2 just to see what Sea of Thieves is all about. there's not a lot on the service I'll play, but it does have a few games. I never played the Splosion games - should I prioritize Ms. Splosion Man since it's leaving at the end of the month? Is it an iterative sequel that makes the first game unnecessary, but didn't have the same impact as the first because it wasn't as new?

I didn't play ms. splosion man but it was essentially the ms. pac man to pac man. splosion man is a fun little game but probably isn't especially necessary some 9 years later in a post meat boy and all its clones world.

There's something special about being able to play proper looking SNES games with a SNES controller, on your HDTV, with that many games on there. I know people just say use an emulator on your computer, but I love mine! You have one more way to play Secret of Mana!

Sea of Thieves requires a degree of coordination between people that I was both not anticipating and am very into. I don't even know how this would work without voice chat.

nah, this isn't out of line with console mp games these days. the biggest games in the world are fortnite, pubp, and rainbow six siege.

In Overwatch you don't really need to coordinate to do basic tasks. When Sea of Thieves gets going, it's like only being able to use one limb 100% well or 3 limbs 40% well.

Mark of the Ninja Remastered, Lumines HD, The Messenger, Light Fall, Banner Saga 1/2/3.

That was a nice set of indie games in 10 minutes.

Ive never played it, so I'm most excited for it out of everything. And The Messenger, because its Ninja Gaiden.

Vivendi is cashing out of Ubisoft. Thats now how I expected this to end, but thats nice to see.

Hyper Light Drifter is one of those I always wanted to play, but never got around to. Awesome that its coming to Switch!

There's a way to add retroarch emulation that covers pretty much all those games the base emulator can't handle, and you can set those games specifically to launch with that emulator instead with a pretty simple command line addition. Only downsides are like one extra frame of input lag, and while you can still use savestates, you can't rewind them.

I was actually semi-enjoying that game until plot happened that caused the final boss fight. Have to admit though, that final boss fight was something else
