Do you think what she did crossed the line?

Patricia Cummings, a teacher and blonde conservative cow at a predominately Black and Hispanic Bronix Middle School did an unconventional "demonstration" where students said she went too far after she made 3 black classmates lie down on the floor and then STEPPED ON THEM during a lesson on SLAVERY!!

She was covering the infamous pasage: the forced voyage of African captives across the Atlantic Ocean to America as part of global trade

These slave trips were notoriously ccramped, filthy and riddled with disease where many black people died

She singled the 3 black kids and instructed them to stretch out on the floor in front of the class and then she said "You see how it was to be slave? How does it feel?"

When one of the students said she felt fine, the teacher then put her foot on the girl's back and said "How does it feel now? See how it feels to be a slave?"

She was temporarily removed but returned thursdday morning only to be reassigned.

There is now an investigation into this as spokeswoman Toya Holness said she was deeply disturbed by what was told..

Patricia had her degree completed at Adelphi University with a Masters at New York College

It was also revealed she started a cheerleading program to "prevent middle school girls from getting involevd with negative neighborhood elements"

Her twitter page also BLASTED the NFL players kneeling and posted a MEME of them insulting people who "disrespect" the flag. It has since been dormant

Do you think this demonstration crossed the line? let's see what people think

She's teaching kids something with demonstrations. She didn't hurt the kids as you're trying to make out. The school is predominately Black and Hispanic so it's no issue the kids were black. This is a no news story.

Edit: Also that teacher is hot just like her last name.

Having middle school kids lie down on the floor doesn't really demonstrate anything. Nothing really wrong with it but still unnecessary and doesn't really convey any educational meaning. But this part?

When one of the students said she felt fine, the teacher then put her foot on the girl's back and said "How does it feel now? See how it feels to be a slave?"

That's not only unnecessary but also kind of fucked up. Not in a "white lady stomping on black kid" kind of racist way, but more of a "get your fucking foot off of that kids back" kind of way. I'd be pissed as hell if that was my daughter's teacher. You don't tell kids to lie down and put your feet on them.

From whatever perspective you look at (racist or just unnecessary) this lady is an idiot and should be reprimanded appropriately.

when I was in first grade I remember a teacher talking about the civil war. I am not sure why we were going over that in first grade but...there was a black kid in the class. and I remember the teacher saying that the kid would be a slave back then. even at that age I remember finding it an odd thing to announce in class. I mean it's true but.....it's just kinda weird to so that to first graders and to put the black kid on stage like that.

The teacher in this case is in the wrong on so many levels. The first is there's no reason, no matter how the teacher or her superiors might justify it, to lay hands (or feet) on a kid without their parents (if they're under 18) or the kid's written consent. Two whatever happened to people 'walking a mile in someone else's shoes'? How would this teacher feel if someone dragged her out for a demo about being white? It would sound pretty condescending, patronizing and a bit arrogant, wouldn't it? It's apparent that she went ahead with her demo without thinking about how her students would react to the lesson or being singled out for 'special' treatment since no kids other than blacks were singled out to participate.

Lol I highly doubt she stepped on them in the way this clickbait bs suggests. Honestly sounds like she was probably a liberal trying to indoctrinate white guilt into children like the public school system loves to do

I dont see this as some hidden racism as people like to think however even if she stepped on kids of any color, you just dont do that as a teacher in school. Heck, Teachers nowadays are even scared sometimes of putting a hand on a kids shoulder because it will be misconstrued as something nutty like sexual abuse.

would you be totally okay with someone putting their foot on your kids back without having any meaningful teaching point associated with it? Let's say she was demonstrating how royalty would keep their feet on their servants backs while on all fours. Doesn't matter if the kid was white or black. Would that be okay even though it's not technically not assault and there are no racial undertones?

Well obviously if it had no meaningful teaching point it would just be pure abuse and not a demonstration.
