Its odd, Im 33, got really into pink floyd a few years ago and knew people really like animals, but when I listened to it then I thought it was just ok, really love wish you were gone and the wall (dark side of course too).

But then this week I listened to Animals and holllly crap this album just clicked with me and now I think its awesome, especially dogs and pigs.

If you want a Floyd album everyone forgot, look into Obscured by Clouds.

When that first guitar solo hits at 3:42, god damn is it amazing.

Funny enough I heard pigs on the radio the other week and that's what made me go I need to check out animals again.

From personal experience, listening to Dogs when you've just lot a pet is a bad idea. It is an absolutely hollow feeling when you get to the part with all those dogs barking and yours is no longer with you.

Great song. Just the wrong time to listen to it.

Animals is great, but I'd rather listen to other PF albums over it usually.

Eh, I didn't think it was bad, just...improperly marketed.
I saw tons of places pushing it as "the lost Pink Floyd album" which, while it technically is that, people took that to mean it was going to be on the same level as their actual albums. Which it isn't - what I've read about it is that it's mostly dregs from Division Bell sessions. It was never going to be as good as their actual albums.

If it had been marketed as something like a rarities album, I doubt it would have been received as lukewarmly as it was. Maybe not, considering it's Pink Floyd, but at least there would've been a better chance.

My favorite Floyd album is The Dark Side of the Moon.
Yet, my favorite Floyd song, is Echoes.

Syd wouldn't rejoin Pink Floyd even if he was still alive. He moved on and thinking about his time with them would make him feel depressed.

One of the songs thats always stuck with me has been The Great Gig in the Sky. That chorus...hot damn.

It brings back memories of playing this one surf map on counter strike source wayyyyy back in the day over the summers and having ZERO other responsibilities in the world. Love it. Still calms me if Im upset or stressed.
