Plots that would have ended in about two minutes had someone just asked "what was that about?" or actually listened to that annoying kid.

- Fucking restaurant scenes. I know with the multiple takes & everything the actors can't eat a lot, but seeing people continuing the conversation after their food's been served & taking approximately one infuriatingly small bite every three minutes pisses me off so god damn bad. Actually, make that pretty much any scene involving food. We've all seen something in a commercial, TV show or movie where the matriarch of a family's prepared a royal feast for breakfast & the asshole dad just walks out of the house with a single piece of toast. The "good guy" always wins and saves everyone important to him and the "jerk" who was smart enough to run away at the first sign of shit hitting the fan, always gets killed for not risking their life to save main character or MC's family. On a related note, introducing new characters half way through just to have a higher body count.

Seems like in American movies and tv shows all anyone ever eats for breakfast or knows how to cook is scrambled eggs, just a plate of scrambled eggs. Who the fuck wants that?

Good guy overhears how they have to be careful that he never finds out. He angrily confronts them, demanding to know what it is he shouldn't find out about. They proceed to whine about how his surprise party is now ruined. He totally buys it.
If he had just stayed hidden and silent, he could have heard the rest of the conversation. But good guys overhear. Only villains eavesdrop.

Riding on top of a vehicle with no hand holds or anything and somehow staying on top of it at high speeds and bumps and flips.

Telling hero plan instead of just shooting them when they have the chance. Doubly so for robots/AI, which shouldn't have an ego to stroke like a human villain.

Kicking the Dog

I'm fine with it in most circumstances, I just hate when it's used as a cheap trick to make the audience hate a character that could questionably be considered moral, or at least neutral. Like you gotta shoehorn a negative scene of a character just to make us dislike them? Lazy.

Not sure I've seen that much at all. Plus I recall a lot of characters having cereal.
