Like, with movies and shows all you have to do is pop in the next disc, day repeat, you keep the memories, so now you can just watch the next movie or episode.

With games, you spend time on them, like how you spent time watching the movie, but your game is tied to a save file. You have to work your way to a certain point and then save the game. When the day resets, your save file doesn't exist anymore. So then you have to start all over again.

Sure, you could then speedrun shit but you'd have to play the game over and over and over again and it would take a ludicrous amount of time to beat, learn, and master the game, but you would also either have to dedicate each whole infinite day to it, so it essentially devours your life, or spend only a few hours each day to do it, and that'll just take longer.

I just don't get it, man.

Even if you can't save progress, there's always speed running and shorter games. Once you've beaten a part of a game it gets easier the second time around normally. Couple this with assloads of time and you can learn to speedrun a lot of games. Of course, some games would be impossible to finish under normal circumstances, but for some of them, cheating power ups to allow progression could make them beatable.
