it's kinda messed up that people see the Nords and Talos as the bad guys, when they are the ones being oppressed and the Elves are clearly the racists. they are basically the white supremacists of that world.

doesn't make their entire native religion racist. no more than Odin is racist just cause some nazis choose him in our world. honestly I think that's why people think the nords are racists. because in the real world, there is a segment of nazis that praise the norse gods and viking imagry. even though there is nothing inherently racist about norse culture.

and there are more racist racist elves in the game than racist nords.

Everyone is talking about The Elder Scrolls but the only Talos for me is the bronze giant from Greek mythology.

IIRC the end goal of Thalmor leadership is to unmake Mundus and return to the state they existed in before. I think it's said somewhere that Talos is important to preventing that and keeping Mundus together, and stopping his worship is key to getting around him.

so then worshipping Talos is literally keeping the world together. and people who say that you shouldn't worship him, want the universe to end. got it.

Probably but the biggest crime in tamriel is the fashion. You should go to Radiant Raiment. (Note to mods, that's a store in skyrim)

This. Ulfric's rebellion forced the Imperials to allow the Thalmor to operate in Skyrim, because of the conditions of the treaty IIRC. The treaty was only signed after the recapture of the Imperial City by the Empire because "peace at any price" was preferable after the devastating losses of the war.

Ulfric is also literally compromised by the Thalmor after his capture at their hands during the war.

The Empire turned a blind eye to people privately worshipping Talos until Ulfric's rebellion forced their hand. The only reason they conceded the ban of Talos worship was because they had no ability to continue fighting (it actually prompted Hammerfell to abandon the Empire for their weakness - and Hammerfell continued to kick Thalmor ass on their own after the treaty)

A Stormcloak victory in canon would actually be the worst ending - Skyrim, Hammerfell, and the Empire cannot take on the Thalmor again alone (and the Thalmor absolutely intend to lick their wounds and assault the Empire again). The Thalmor want to divide and weaken the Empire.

Y'all need to read "The Great War", a book in Skyrim written by an Imperial officer that fought in the war.
