Get your weekends back?
Not have to worry about work outside of work?

The 33% paycut in my case equals over $20000 a year for what it's worth.

Sure, I'll take a 33% paycut on the $0 of income I have. Less stress will help me get through college easier.

Unless that pay cut magically also covers all my bills, I don't see how I can take a 33% cut and NOT be stressed out. I'd rather be stressed and all my bills paid than not stressed and homeless.

Technically I do that now. I can switch jobs doing the same thing and get paid more but I don't. It's important to like the people you work with, like what you do, and have flexibility with your hours. I have all of those things and that's the only reason why I haven't gone on to big money.

other things stress me out, i always figure solutions to financial problems.

just today the washer didn't work. that stressed me out.
if that lady screams at me for walking my dog nearby her house again, going to tell her to shut up it's a public sidewalk.

What if taking the pay cut introduces stress?

For example, what if you make 30k and have 25k of expenses?

Then you don't take the pay cut. Nobody is forcing you to make this decision.

No I mean it's a logical flaw in the premise. If taking the paycit introduces stress, it's not eliminating almost all stress.

My stress is 100% money related, so this is paradoxical.

I would take a 50% pay INCREASE to double my stress, however. Because I deal with stress very well, apparently.

Spoken like someone who's never been faced in a situation where you had to make critical choices FAST. AND I MEAN FAST! One second you could be pullin at your pants in the living room, the next? WHOA FIRE IN THE KITCHEN!!! SIR you will find stress in your life and you will buckle under the amazing tower of pressure just placed upon your fragile shoulders. It's going to happen, oh yes, it's going to happen.

Assuming this means elimination of stress in the sense of anything that stresses you, yeah. No mortgage/rent, job worries, or bills AND make 66% of what I was? Sure.

That said, I'm not really stressed and have never really been, this is just extra no stress.

Also...

Decisive people tend to not stress. At least that's how it is for me. I hate possibilities, so I quickly come to a decision in situations like that. What comes of it, comes of it--not much else to be said, and dwelling on things in the past seldom changes the future so... I see it as a waste of time.

Try getting idiotic work calls at 8am on a Sunday morning. And being expected to answer. And having your boss say NOTHING of value.

I mean, I don't change my sleep schedule for the weekend so I'm up at like 4 AM every day. Have had to deal with this before. Not that big an issue.
