Been dumping 8-bit songs (with stereo!) into my music library and was reminded of the soundtrack of Duck Tales which I could care less about, especially the moon song which I find annoying.

As another example: listening to Shadow Man's theme from MM3 makes me want to pour rubbing alcohol down my ears, it's such an ugly song that sounds like it was based on the sounds that animals make when they hump at least until it goes to a hurried tempo that tells you to beat the level faster so you don't have to listen to it anymore or to hurry up and listen to something else. I just don't understand how some people love this one.

HM: the temple theme from Zelda 2, I don't really hate this song but am rather indifferent to it.

The Skyrim theme song.

It's incredibly generic and bland. There are SO many similar epic choir type songs (I don't know the name for them) in many other games that are far superior. I'm pretty sure it's only because it was originally in the trailer for an Elder Scrolls game, and not because of its quality.

if I don't really like it, I tend to not even remember it so I can't really think of a game song that I hate. I don't think I've ever heard one that I disliked, just ones that I didn't love.

it's actually the Elder Scrolls theme. they use that theme in every game, they just retool it a little for each game.

I mean, you can easily go with the original Halo theme song, it's still really good.

Hmm... I have to admit I didn't know that. Regardless, for being such a ridiculously popular and ambitious AAA title, it is still a very mediocre song (that version of it anyway).

Yeah, there probably are, but mostly from games I haven't actually played, so it's hard to think of them unless somebody else reminds me of them. And I don't think it's fair to name those since I like a lot of probably "bad" songs purely from association with playing the game.

From a game I actually have played and liked, the Dr. Wily theme from MM2 always comes to mind. It's not bad and I get why it's popular, but it's not even the best song in MM2 or the best Dr. Wily theme IMO.

Also I love the Zelda II temple theme :(

Update: I have located awesome remixes of both the Temple Theme and Moon Theme from their respective games, however, the 8-bit versions are still uninteresting.

I wouldn't say I hate it, necessarily, but I definitely don't like it as much as many do.
