A lot of Satanists believe that Satan is a true angel and was cast out of heaven by fallen angels, but still serves God. They base this mostly on the book of Job, where Lucifer is depicted as working with God to test Job's faith in God.

There's also the whole glaring issue in Christian theology about how angels have no free will yet Satan rebelled and God is omnipotent and knew it would happen and made Satan anyways.

Why can't people just accept Christ or not accept Christ... Why do we have to attack people who BELIEVE they were helping you? Why can't we just say "No thanks, buddy" and move on? I dont understand this either. As I understand it, Satan is a character first introduced in the Bible. If you believe the account suggesting his existence, you would believe the remainder of the book which suggests that he is your enemy: the one who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Why choose that?

If you believe the account suggesting his existence, you would believe the remainder of the book which suggests that he is your enemy: the one who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Why choose that?

When Jesus was tempted in the desert, Satan told him that if he just fell down and worshipped him, he would give him all these kingdoms.

So the idea is that Satan is the ruler of this world. That is, flesh is enmity with God and while God technically rules this world, he just kinda passively does as an overseer. Satan on the other hand I guess would pick a wicked man and raise him up to be a huge movie producer who secretly molested women.

So, in short, they worship the flesh. They want lots of money, pleasure and don't care about much else. And because of that, if he is the one to give this power, then so be it.

Even the form of Satanism that doesn't really believe he is real is kinda the same way. The basic idea is to get ahead and get your power and pleasure you desire; though they would argue they have some sort of moral set to hold them back.
