He also made a bunch of combat tips videos to show how he did some of this. I never knew you could be this flashy with the game's combat.

This is what I love about Nintendo. They might not always make the most original content, but what they produce is some of the most finely crafted stuff on the market. Compare this to the launch state of any Bethesda game and it should be obvious why, after all these years, Nintendo is still in the game.

Seriously imagine Skyrim with combat like this.

Or really just Skyrim with combat beyond strafe and hit.

That's what he's playing on, actually. Gold enemies are only available on Hard mode (you can also see by the small Triforce symbol on the bottom left of his other videos) and in that mode all enemies have regen health.

Bethesda open world games like Skyrim look like a complete joke mechanically when you pit it against BotW.

Oh, how does your mace combat work, you uh, walk at people and left click for a generic looking swing animation repeatedly. Cool!

Thats the beauty of breath of the wild. Its physics engine is robust and allow a extremely vast amount of ways to approach most things.

And the further you progress through the game and acquire new skills, equipment, and understanding of the game, it just keeps opening up options for you to do amazing things.

It really accomplishes the 'zero-to-hero' feel quite well.

And travel(and the physics) in Skyrim is a joke compared to BOTW. Skyrim is a completely different game. It focuses more on Story and RPG mechanics.

Breath of the Wild allows aside from basics like walking, fast travel swimming, running and horse riding...

Climbing up majority of surfaces
Gliding
Shield Surfing
Chopping down trees to use as bridges/makeshift boats
Flying mine cart(using magnesis)
Freezing water
Makeshift hot air balloon
Limited flight with revalis gale
Sand Seals
Riding guardians
Catapults/Boulder/Log launching(with clever application of magnesis and/or stasis)
Motorcycle if you have the DLC

Etc.
