A Hoover High school teacher was placed on administrative leave with pay on Monday for using a racial slur when asking students to turn down music they were playing in class last Friday, school system officials today confirmed.

The teacher admitted to using the slur, Hoover school superintendent Dr. Kathy Murphy confirmed.

So when my stepdad says the C word when he's angry is he being racist to Australian people?

Both cities I've grown up in probably have more white people saying the N word than black people.

Granted that's in Canada and I wouldn't use the word myself since I think it's unnecessary unless a rap song with said word is on, but even still.

I realize I shouldn't laugh, but it sounds like a line from The Boondocks, and I can't help but laugh at a line that sounds like it's from The Boondocks.

Still, really bizarre and inappropriate thing for a teacher to say to students. Personally, I feel like the racial stigma of the word is only amplified by its usage permissions; but regardless, it's not language I would expect from a teacher to their students.
