I noticed some kids would actually toss the dime of change in the garbage with thier tray. So I started asking for and collecting several dimes a day.

At some point, someone noticed and made me donate my collections to the school nurse who put it toward the SPCA.

I still have mixed feelings about this scenario to this day.

Who made you donate the money?
Did they force you to donate it, or suggest it?

Been a murder, over in Riften. Some old lady who runs an orphanage. Those poor children must be heartbroken.

That's bullshit. You did nothing wrong. Just saved US currency from ending up in the landfill.

Don't remember, but most likely. My mother loved animals.
I was just an entrepreneur farming change from idiots. I imagine them looking at me like I was the wolf of Sesame Street.

I also get upset about things I remember from childhood, being a kid and letting authority figures have their run of things.

"Hey, kid. Give me your money, this is what we are going to do with it."

That person should have been charged with theft.

Mixed feelings? The only feeling you should have had was rage.

Also what's up with kids literally throwing their money away?

The kids who threw it away didn't grasp the concept of money. I brown bagged my pb&j most days and knew that coin bought candy.

I was downcast when the teachers and attendants discovered my scheme and sent me to the nurse and her charity can. I kept it up for a few weeks and got praise for my earnings but of course the other kids got wise and the whole thing ended.

seriously, that is fucked up. they literally robbed you. what year was this? if this happened in 2018 I bet you could have put them on blast in the news and sued or something. if I had a time machine I'd go back and prevent them from taking your money. this story pisses me off

That is pretty bad. They sound like a shitty person who was mad that you were a smart kid. Probably should've just ran. Or allied and said you wanted to buy lunch. Or saving it up for something. My mom would've been pissed if someone did that to me. She would've been at that school arguing with everyone. Haha.

On a side note, I remember when they had Krispy Kreme donut sales at school, I would usually by the last two or three from someone so I could get the box. People thought I was asking them, and then when I said I wasn't, would ask for them. So, I said I would for $.75... and people still bought them. Made all my donut money back. I started buying boxes and reselling them to kids who didn't ever see the donut sellers. Haha.
