to the people saying "a quick beheading over what the cartel will do...."

not saying the cartel won't torture you, but the beheadings that isis does are not that great or quick. it's not like a guillotine or even a medieval axe. they just take a knife and saw through your neck while you are still alive. I think you might still be alive for like half of the cutting maybe. I've never seen the beheading videos. but have talked to people who have and been told there is alot of screaming

There is a minuscule (i'm talking insignificant) chance that members of ISIS actually follow Islam doctrine. While it does promote violence in the Quran, there are quotes that tell them to have pity on their Christian and Jewish brothers; they are strayed but can be brought to Islam.

I would just act like i'm a non-American Christian and I feel like there is a slightly higher chance to live with ISIS than the Cartel.

I saw a video of I guess ISIS (huh kinda sad there are multiple groups mass beheading people in the middle east that I can't say for sure) but they just had this guy blindfolded he knelt down they took one good swipe and he was beheaded, quick and over, even had the decency to blindfold the man. there was a pile of beheaded bodies behind him.

They had a crowd and everything. With all the reports of mass graves I assume at some point they just go assembly line fashion with their shit. Can't murder everyone with a rusty butter knife

Not necessarily. You're a hostage just for being an American out of pragmatism because they can use you (although Americans aren't as valuable as Europeans since Europe pays ransoms). But ISIS hates the idea of nationality and would encourage you to denounce your citizenship. They don't really think "I hate you because of your citizenship." There are plenty of Americans in ISIS. They would actually much rather get paid for you than to kill you.

They have also done it quickly by sword. Since they stopped showing the beheading in later videos and only the head some people speculate the victims were shot first.
