Apparently it was. Some other user brought that up. That wasn't why I chose the name. I chose the name cause I'd heard it in some anime and thought it sounded cool.

The only thing that has to change would be for one cop to not be alone in a room/hallway/stairwell/etc. with multiple uncuffed people. That was the problem here. He was alone when he shouldnt have been, and because of that more peoples lives were in danger. There should be procedures in place so that these things have no chance to turn lethal.

So he should have allowed the mob to beat him up because he, in hindsight, should at all times be within spitting distance of two or more other officers?

Yeah, I don't get hutton's point. The cop is not the one who makes the procedures -- and those are almost certainly constrained by budgets anyway -- so his being alone due to policy shouldn't influence his actions.

FWIW, this is a pathetic attempt to deflect the blame off a group of people who behaved like thugs onto the person who was actually the victim of a mob assault.

That's all good when the cop is already on his feet, but on the ground and disoriented is a pretty tough position to subdue anyone.

Unless evidence comes out that the cop incited the altercation, I can't believe anyone would think he was in the wrong. There is a huge problem with trigger-happy cops, but this is not such a case. Anyone the size of an adult can kill another adult with the right circumstances, so the cop would still be in the right even if it was just the kid bumrushing him and he felt he had no control over the situation and reared for his life.

to make it clear. I think the reason he shot the boy was cause of the factor of the rest of the family. if it had been one on one maybe he could have found another way. but he had several people attacking him, and I doubt he has action movie level martial arts training. the only way he could shut that shit down was to use his gun and end it. when he shot, the rest of them probably stopped and cowered. problem solved. I saw this in another link and it sounded like if I remember right, the boy got mad that the cop hit his mom. but he only did it cause he was being attacked by her, and other people. and then the boy leapt onto the cop. so the cop used his gun. if anyone is to blame for his death it's his mom. hopefully she feels guilty for the rest of her life for starting that fight that pulled in her son, and got him killed.

It's not often, but that's a good post from you Zikten.

So you agree this was justified?

What the fuck does that even matter? I wasn't talking about execution being justified, I was talking about how it possibly could have been avoided and how it might not have been necessary in the first place.

It could have been avoided by an entire family having enough respect for the law, society, and other people to not assault an armed police officer.

It WOULD have been avoided if the teen was smart enough to not break the law in the first place.

Great, another victim blamer.

The cop was the victim...

Well thanks for admitting that it potentially could have been resolved differently. Not saying that there wasn't any possible scenario where he could have been in a mortal peril, but way more often than not, the cop would have been able to handle the threat....

liberals fucked those up too when they cried over cops using batons to restrain Rodney King.

That's a hilarious false narrative.

It's completely true.

Here's a short summation.

That night, Rodney King was in violation of parole, drunk as all fuck and speeding. When pursued by cops, he wouldn't stop. He went over 100 mph on the freeway and residential areas for 7 miles until he finally stopped. He did not comply with officer's commands to get out of his vehicle. When he finally did, he did not comply with demands to get down. He taunted officers. When the officers attempted to bring him down physically, he fought them off. His PCP intoxication made him stronger than usual and able to fend them off. One of the cops tazed him once, he got back up. The cop tazed him again, and he got back up again. This is when the video starts recording. He charges at an officer (this part was edited out by the media) and that officer puts him down with his baton. They start beating him with batons in an attempt to restrain him. He keeps getting back up. All throughout the video, the cops can be heard shouting "put your hands behind your back". He does not comply. He keeps trying to get back up so they keep beating him, as per protocol back then. That's all it was. It wasn't a racist attack the way the media portrayed it. It's the same bullshit they played with Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. It was just a bunch of liberal bullshit.

And some of you might be clever enough to use google and will find that no PCP was found in Rodney King's system, so let me just kill that preemptively. The reason no PCP was because Rodney King was drunk as fuck, and that made his blood very acidic. That makes it very difficult, if not impossible to detect PCP. The prosecution wanted to test his hair to find if had been on PCP, as that would have worked, but the defense denied it. Oh yeah, when Rodney King died, one of the drugs found in his system, guess what it was?... Yeah, PCP. And we don't have to take the cop's words when it comes to King's display of PCP intoxication that night. The paramedics who looked him over and the doctor (name: Mancia) who saw him at the hospital, all said and wrote in their reports that he displayed signs of PCP intoxication.

Also, if those cops were just out on a night looking for a black guy to beat, why did they only target Rodney King? Why didn't they also attack the two black passengers that were in Rodney King's car? Could it have anything to do with the fact that those passengers complied and weren't any trouble?
