Because the bill that was presented was garbage, and it was the fourth CR they tried to pass because Republicans don't actually want to negotiate a full budget with Democrats.

Also notable that a bipartisan bill was presented to Trump, who went on a tirade about "shithole countries" because it didn't have his precious wall in it. So because Trump was against it, McConnell refused to put it up for a vote even if they could easily override the presumed veto.

Democrats hold the least amount of blame for this shutdown.

It's hard for it to be democratic sabotage when Trump is the main reason we're in this mess. He said he would sign whatever bill congress agreed too then later bitched about his wall not being in there which then caused the chain of events that lead to here.

Simply if Trump didn't say anything, there would likely be no government shut down.

Thats why McConnell and Trump refused to vote on any bill that Democrats offered, even with ones that had concessions towards a possible wall? How about the bill that would have at least allowed military members to be paid?

No it's Trump thinking the general public is stupid enough to think it's the democrats fault. Luckily most of us are not dumb enough to fall for it. Sadly enough of us are.

Trump has been threatening this shutdown for months if the democrats don't agree to wall.

You can break a law without intending to. There is no age limit on the immigration process. Unless they were born on American soil, they have no lawful right to be in the country. Their very existence is trespass in the eyes of the law. So yeah, they did break the law.

I don't think we should kick out people who have literally lived here nearly their entire lives. :v Can you imagine being thrown out and put into a country you have no connection to besides exiting the birth canal there?

Though I do think we should fine them or something till they stop being lazy and get actual citizenship. There isn't any excuse for them not to have applied for it at this point. That doesn't mean we should round them up in the back of trucks and dump them on the other side of the border though. That is just republican nastiness.

It would be more accurate if you put drugs on someone and that person knew about it and then kept them, and 10 years later still had them and a cop pulls them over and finds them. Yes in that situation they should be arrested.
