Tbh, the 2014 xbone DRM controversy basically killed that monster dead. ...it also made sony fans infinitely more insufferable, and I say this as a huge sony fanboy. Nintendo fanatics (again, speaking as someone who loves Nintendo to death)... I have to give it to them, their dedication and perseverance is fierce, but at least, to my eyes, they're a LITTLE more likely to call the company out on bullshit. A little. Xbox fanboys have the added bonuses of having a higher ratio of meathead bro behavior due to the kinds of games that put Xbox on the map and also the fanboys who were defending the original Xbone concept are just indefensible. So they're worse. But Nintendo fanboys combine the fanatical defense of consumer-unfriendly BS and terrible decisions in general with an added layer of insufferable snobby zeal. The Nintendo fanboy spectrum thus harnesses all the standard problems with annoying fanboys, but with an added air of undue smugness and condescension that really makes things a lot worse coupled with the dumb/awful things Nintendo does they defend.
