I had a dream where I was in a plane crash (OK, more of a poor landing) in the middle of the ocean and I was surrounded by idiots.

I'd prefer Castaway to your dream any day

tbh, I'll never understand why dangerous chemicals are packaged to look like candy, given that children already accidentally poison themselves enough. (No easy fix for the ones old enough to know better, though.)

This reminds me of those hand soaps with plastic microbeads that have been banned in many places because they eventually get in the ocean, which already has a plastic problem.

Most people made sick by laundry pods are older adults with cognitive issues. Children now have been raised around laundry pods (and dishwasher tabs) and have been told to know they're bad. Seniors never had these bright fancy cleaners growing up and may have never used them as an adult. They appear to be like candy and these people have no working knowledge or memory to tell them it's not safe. So then they cromch and have bad times

But like...they can't read the bag they found the pods in? >__>

I'm pretty torn on this. Tax money is going to public hospitals that are taking care of people who eat laundry detergent, but I can't help but think it may be a good thing that these types of people are volunteering to euthanize themselves.

Probably more easy for the chemicals to mix/dissolve. That's just a guess though as I've no idea the actual reason behind it. Still adult things are just that and won't change just because little Jimmy doesn't know the difference between liquid and solids. It's the parents responsibility to make sure their kids don't eat what they are not supposed to.

Or they just find the pods and forget why they had it. Or pods are stored without a box. Not sure of the exact circumstances. Just what I've read in the news and heard from a few friends working emerg

I've seen laundry pod boxes and not one has had a particularly noticeable warning about the dangers of consumption. Especially if you may be someone without glasses and reduced near vision.
