The only father daughter dance I've ever heard of before this article was on a fictional television program. In it, they had such a dance (in an orthodox christian community) to honor girls coming of age and renewing "purity vows" and one 13 year old girl who was a proud "virgin" passed out from low blood pressure. As it turns out, she was pregnant. Her own brother was the main suspect at first because his character was literally based on that Duggar molestor guy. Turns out though that the minister of the church/community was the father and had a history of tricking teenage girls into sex by convincing them god wanted them to.

Who would even go to such an awkward affair as a father daughter dance? What even is the point of it? I mean I know trump would be foaming at the mouth to take Ivanka to one, but besides that...
