The story would've been so much more interesting if Rey actually took Kylo Ren's offer to team up. Seems like some of the stuff he was saying in that scene actually made sense (starting over, moving on from the past, etc.)

Instead, we ended up with a generic 'good vs evil' ending/story, and they'll probably stick to that same boring theme in the next movie.

Yeah, 100%

that was the one moment during the movie where I was like "ooh, this is an interesting new direction!" I thought she was going to do it, and Ep. 9 would be about her and Kylo just running through the galaxy while Rey's friends try desperately to reach her. Would have been way cooler than what we got.

Rey is a superhero at the point, if you expect anything well written, good luck.

Also she is going to build a light saber staff, probably get a unique color too.
