Poll of the Day > I just barely saw Split (possible spoilers)

I realize it came out like a year ago at this point, but holy hell, that last 3 minutes made me go from "this movie's entertaining enough, especially considering who made it" to "holy shit, that was awesome, I can't wait for the next one". Did anyone see this movie and not get what that reveal was?

Yeah, that's what I meant by "can't wait to see the next one". I don't think I've ever actually looks forward to an M Night Shyamalan movie before.

I thought the crawling on walls thing was kinda dumb but the rest of the movie was pretty good. James McAvoy is very talented.

I thought all of his 'powers' were kinda dumb until the reveal, which reframed the movie and made me willing to forgive that convoluted BS since it made more sense in the rules that has been set up previously.

Good point, the tie-in justified it from a plot perspective. What powers did he have outside of the beast stuff? afaik he had severe schizophrenia with no powers outside of when beast personality is active?

Really, I am too. I had no interest in the film until I saw people comparing it to his early work and was like "I guess I need to watch it now". Although I might be a bit biased because Unbreakable is possibly my favorite movie of his, at least on par with Sixth Sense, so I'm not ashamed to admit I fangirled a bit when Willis showed up.

James McAvoy was the only good thing about that movie, IMHO.

McAvoy was great. There's plenty of "good" but McAvoy really did sell it. That, and the reveal which might be my favorite Shyamalan reveal of all time, and definitely my favorite in the last decade.

My understanding was that only the beast personality had these powers, but between Hedwig being able to control who's in control and the beast having emerged, they can basically call forth Mr Hyde at any time.
