So since I got back to Qatar from being home for Christmas my sleep pattern has been all over the place. Wake up at weird times, then can't get back to sleep, so stay up and then just go to work on like 4 hours sleep. Then get home and I'm so shattered my body aches, like my shoulders especially feel exhausted for whatever reason, presumably because I'm using them to drive?

Anyway once that happens I feel the need to go to sleep. So I get home, take a nap, then get up, go to bed late, and then wake up like 2-3 hours before I should. I assumed the naps were the cause of the problem, so fine

But this time I got home and actually stayed awake until around 10, then went to sleep.

...And woke up just past 1am. That's actually worse than usual.

It can't be jetlag anymore, it's been nearly two weeks on a 3-hour time difference. Help?

I had something similar for a few weeks after being in Germany for a week. I was waking up super early, going to bed super early, waking up in the middle of the night for like an hour. It was strange. After maybe 3 weeks I was back to normal, though.

Yeah I mean I'm sure this will pass, it's just frustrating to actually stay awake until around bedtime and then only get 3 hours

And the thing is, I fly to and from Qatar twice a year. This didn't happen the other times.

What has actually given me pause is that the last time I slept like this - going to bed super tired and still only getting like 3 hrs sleep - is when I had (mild) depression. I don't feel depressed right now but the pattern is weirdly similar.
