Are you saying there are achievements in games that are impossible to get without lootboxes? And that avatar items are going to be a lootbox thing? Or are there non-game-related lootboxes that are just going to hand out lootbox achievements like "Lootbox Achievement #72 - 20G"?

Sounds fine to me. I thought achievements were originally supposed to convey bonuses anyway and so far only Ubisoft has actually implemented such a system from what I've seen.

You're referring to the uplay system, yes? I actually really enjoy that system. Using the uplay points to unlock little dlcs.

I remember when 360 first came out with achievements and gamer points I thought you'd be able to use them to buy stuff cause I was a dumbass.

Well, yeah I don't necessarily like Uplay specifically, since it's entirely redundant DRM unless you buy directly from them.

But yeah otherwise it's nice to get stuff for playing a game you were going to play anyway. I used points to get a discount on a game, for instance... that's pretty awesome.

They used to do something similar on the 360. Games had Avatar Rewards that gave props and costumes like Halo Reach had a Noble 6 costume and the Master Chief Collection gave you a 343 Guilty Spark prop.
