Quick lets ruin his career and reputation for life!!

I'm not condoning grabbing a women's ass randomly but holy fucking shit...

I still refuse to believe anyone who says this shit like the Admirl actually works in a white collar field.

Unless you live in hicktown USA where everyone's banging their cousins this shouldn't be surprising.

People have lost their career and reputation for far less in business. For FAR less.

We get that McDonalds has some lax rules but that's not reflective of most job fields.

It isn't right, but there is a significant difference between grabbing someones ass once, and using your position of power to convince people to do the things you want (sexual or otherwise)

If this story is to be believed, this man grabbed a woman's ass ONE TIME roughly a year ago. It's ridiculous that it's even being looked at.

This doesn't sound like it was anything more then someones ass getting slapped once before and it's not like her lifeview was shattered because of it.

If it was, she needs to get some thicker fucking skin...

a trans person sexually assaulted a man and HE is being portrayed as the bad guy... WTF

I have been "sexually assaulted" 4 times by my count.

3 ass grabs and 1 crotch grab...

My life is not ruined, it is not my mission in life to ruin the reputation of the people who did this AWFUL thing to me... Especially years later....

This shit is so stupid. Yes there is a difference but groping someone is still assault. Even in the backwards south it's treated seriously. A kid got expelled and sent to juvy for grabbing a girl's ass back in middle school

No one needs to get a "thicker skin". People just need to stop molesting other people

Or he could just not be a desperate creep?

I think that's far more fair of a request than "thicker skin".

It's got nothing to do with one time. People are fired for first infractions all the time.

The fact that an investigation happening pisses you off makes no fucking sense. So what should victims do, keep their mouth shut?

No, fuck that. I'd prefer an investigation over a public execution any day and all you're doing is making it clear you would prefer no one to speak period about these things.

In fact, let's take it the other way and say I have lost my career for literally reporting to HR that I was asked to do something objectively illegal and I refused to do so.

I was blackballed from my field in my city. I adjusted and bounced back in a different field. If this event shatters Corey's worldview then he needs to get thicker skin and stop being a little Bitch just because he lost his job.

These things need to be said in private.

"Excuse me, I don't appreciate you touching my butt."

Men will respect a woman who says that. Instead, we are seeing a lot of them run home and then way down the road write a message about it on social media. Sad and pathetic, really.

I agree, some guys have no self control.

Let me be clear.

Anyone who uses their position of power for favors of any kind is an awful person.
It is also not okay for anyone to force themselves on anyone.
Anyone who is at work and randomly goes around grabbing peoples asses (or any other form of sexual harassment) needs to be fired on the spot.

But if your ass was grabbed (regardless of gender) one time at a bar and you then decided to report that one year later as sexual assault, you are simply being ridiculous.

How can she prove he touched her butt?

If he doesn't have a history of slapping butts then this is obviously a smear.

All it takes if for Charlee Sheen to pay some girl to say he touched her butt and he gets his revenge for Corey saying he molested the other Corey.
Difference in this accusation is that molesting a kid is much worse and Charlie is proven to be a grade A scumbag.

Did it happen in a bar? I didn't see that in the OP article and can't seem to find anything on it.

If anything I assume the cameras would make that easy to verify. That sure would change things for me if it really did happen randomly in a bar but only so far as to say that it should have been reported right away. (That's contingent on it happening in a bar though)

Aside from that though it's public opinion. It's not PC outrage culture, it's just that people can communicate far easier from across the nation and we're now learning that most people don't like the shit that's been normalized for decades.

Makes sense that something like the internet would make public opinion easier to ascertain.

The bar was just an example.

And the topic I linked was to show how much social media loves to scream sexual harassment in one situation, but all the sudden when the situation is different it no longer applies.

I stand by my statement. Everyone is a victim and outraged at everything these days, doesn't matter if it happened one year ago and it was as simple as someone grabbing someone else's ass.

It certainly doesn't make it ok, but deal with it at the time it happens, not years later.

And if you are going to scream sexual harassment and try to ruin peoples lives everytime something fits your agenda, then you better be damn well prepared to scream sexual harassment when the same thing happens in a situation that DOESNT fit your agenda...

Office politics need to be handled differently because usually people are put in a situation where reporting it could makes things worse for the victim...

I'm assuming that's not directed at me? I'm pretty damn consistent but I'll leave it open for anyone to disputes that if they disagree.

That's really all I can say though since I'm not one to say "since they're not consistent I won't be either".

For what it's worth though I agree it shouldn't take so long to come forward but it's well within the statue of limitations so I have no problem with it.

That's what I was thinking. I edited the post quick but mainly I just wanna say I agree it's turned into a convulted mess all around but as many others have said you can't be surprised that all the bandages you slapped on the damn didn't keep it from eventually collapsing.

Edit: not YOU, just the general "yous" if that makes sense.

Why did some people try to demonize the victim in that situation?

Was him being assaulted the consequence of his actions?

@mario2000
Feel free to deflect again, but I'm genuinely curious who you think was wrong in the situation I posted, or why demonizing one person for sexual assault is "a consequence of their actions" but NOT demonizing a different person for sexual assault is somehow okay?

fucking disgusting that people itt are wantonly downplaying sexual assault. grabbing someone's ass is not the same thing as rape but it is sexual assault. no one has the right to do that to someone else without their consent and it is an invasion of some ones private space. whether this is true or not is one thing, feldman deserves the right to defend himself, but if it did happen it is not ok and we shouldn't just downplay it

I think people just react to the word "assault".

Let's say somebody gives somebody else a little shove. Not very hard...doesn't even come close to falling down. Technically that is an assault. But calling it an assault makes it sound a lot worse than it actually was.

Therefore, some people are going to process the situation as "Technically that person was assaulted. Literally assaulted. And so if I can technically use the word 'assault' to describe it, I am going to process this as something really bad. So therefore, the person who shoved the other person is a really awful and disgusting human being who deserves to have their life ruined."

But then some people process it as "Well okay yeah technically it was an assault. Sure. But let's look at what really happened. It was a little shove. Not a nice thing to do, for sure. But I don't think he's a total piece of shit for doing it. Just happened to step slightly out of line in the heat of the moment. It happens. Nobody was hurt. Just a moment of discomfort. Let's move on."

I'm more of the mindset of the latter in this type of situation. Grabbing somebody's ass is about maybe as bad as giving somebody a little shove when you consider what is actually physically taking place, and the overall amount of discomfort it creates.

I hold the same mindset, trying to ruin someones life over an incident like that vs rape or being coerced is a massive exaggeration to the situation.

IT doesn't meaning grabbing that person's ass that one time was okay, it was still wrong and still bad. But the person that did the ass grabbing shouldn't have his life/reputation/career ruined for it.

Coercion, rape, sexual harassment in the workplace, those are all much more viable if you want to crusade to ruin someone.

a lot of words

So you're issue is that people react to their interpretations of specific words. Got it. I think regardless of how you interpret it you'd still understand that grabbing another person's body, without permission, is creepy at best. If you think it's fine because it was brief, well grabbing a breast or vag could be just as brief. Do they equate to a 'harmless shove' as well?

Oh absolutely, it's creepy. And it's not nice. It's just the way some people react you'd think he aggressively physically raped her.

YOU'D think that way. I wouldn't. Again, it's how we interpret words differently.

Do you consider grabbing an ass to be as extreme as raping someone?

No. Can you read? I never said anything like that. He was saying that using the word assault makes people think it's worse than a 'mere touch' and he then equated it to a light shove. I'm saying that interpretations don't disqualify the legitimacy of a claim of misconduct just because people can't see the grey areas in life. I also don't think a slap on the butt should be the end of someone's career necessarily. If they have a history or pattern of this behavior, that's different, but a single occurrence should be dealt with another way.

It isn't right, but there is a significant difference between grabbing someones ass once, and using your position of power to convince people to do the things you want (sexual or otherwise)

This shit is so stupid. Yes there is a difference but groping someone is still assault. Even in the backwards south it's treated seriously. A kid got expelled and sent to juvy for grabbing a girl's ass back in middle school

No one needs to get a "thicker skin". People just need to stop molesting other people

Sounds like bullshit to me (unless there's more to it than a single butt grab). Cite the case.

What happened to the days where a guy would grab a woman's ass, she would smack him and everyone would move on within 5 minutes?

I yearn for those days. I grab a womans ass today and I'm a SO list with my life ruined and probably going to jail. If she don't like it slap me or yell but, to call Police or get me fired/? That's outrageous overreaction.

This is the whole point. Keep your hands to yourself. We're taught that in kindergarten ffs. She's overreacting to what? Your privilege to touch whomever wherever whenever you want? Yeah, she's the jerk in that hypothetical situation.

Honestly this was my first thought. She could be telling the truth, but there's no way to prove in court that he did, so she wouldn't have much to gain except smearing a guy most of the public forgot about.
