Literally every attempt I make at normal topics continually get derailed by shitposters thinking of me as some sort of e sideshow performer and keep trying to derail them until I finally give up as the whole point of the topic is lost at that point from it being derailed again

that's rather disingenuous. a more accurate description would be "and i woudn't shut the fuck up about how much I hate Nintendo and i bash them at every opportunity".

when you're around a group of people who are enjoying something and you storm in and give your unsolicited opinion about how much the thing they're enjoying sucks, it's a quick way to get people to dislike you.

No one is going to like you if you treat them poorly. Not really surprising and expecting them to be nice first or whatever just makes you sound whiny. If you want people to treat you well, change your attitude and recognize and try to work on the things they don't like about you. Don't bend over backwards but if it's something simple like "don't be a dick/troll", then do it.

There is no incentive except your image of yourself.

My behavior is motivated by the projection I'm better than most people and I generally know more things. So I take most posts seriously, and explain my thoughts meticulously to my satisfaction. That can be wordy at times, but that's fine because the rest of the topic is probably infinite regression an memes.

This as well. I don't respond anymore when Rebel claims I'm an alcoholic because I know I haven't had a drink in almost 2 years and I don't need to prove it. Engaging him is exactly what he wants and I don't give it to him.
